It's easy to write a book. To write a good one, well that another story altogether!
To write something that some else enjoys to read takes a lot of effort. You can't just write something that
you find funny, and expect other people to laugh at it.
You can't write something and with-hold information that is nessecary to keep the reader interested.
The challenge also lies with tying everything in at the end of the book. To make books interesting, you have to put a few small incidents throughout the book that are only explained near the ending. This gives the reader greater satisfation at the end of the book, and makes them more inclined to finish the book in the first place.
I've picked up books many times and read only a few pages before putting them down again... but then again I'm very hard to please...
I usually end up putting them down because they take so long to get into. I'm a fussy reader, but I'm a sloppy writer. Something tells me that if I published my book tomorrow, they'd all do what I do all the time: Read two pages then close the book in dissappointment.
Anyone got anything to say about anything I've mentioned or any other topic to do with the relationship between the writer and the reader?
