There is quite a few films based on true stories of peoples live such as Notorious which is about Biggy Smalls. Do you guys think that this type of film is a good idea or just a publicity stunt. Or does it depend on the person it is about

It does depend on who its about. What i hate are films "Based on a true story." There's like a shred of truth in them and then the director decides that he can do what he wants

(sorry if that sounds sexist but name one famous female film-director)

I hope you're not talking about the channel 'True movies' on Sky... the worse channel ever!

The films have ridiculos titles like:

'Gone in the night'
'Baby-snatcher'
'For the love of god, women, he's your child!'

The worse films ever made are collected together and all showed on this channel... how convinient!

The majorty of true movies: crap.

Braveheart
The Wind that shakes the Barley
8 mile (technically not a true story but its a semi-autobiographical film of Eminem's rise to fame)
